Vocational/Career Centers
Vocational Schools fill a much needed role in society, providing hands-on experience in a variety of fields as well as the basic academic classes. A school that is, in essence, a combination of small occupational-type spaces, brings an entire new set of design criteria to the forefront!
Whether it be parking for the customers who want to have their hair cut; high bay clearances for the machine shop; or skilled kitchens for the culinary arts, each program area of a career center is unique and has its own requirements. We have found that broadening our knowledge of the programs offered in these schools, through in-depth interviews with the staff, students and administrators, are the key to success in career/vocational center design.
